Hi, I'm Satori
My life’s mission is to help you create the epic transformation you deserve in through online intuitive eating and sex and relationship coaching.
I received my Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, and my Bachelors in American Indian Studies and Sociology form the University of Minnesota. With a long list of certifications and trainings under my belt, I have 25 years experience in private practice across the modalities of sex and relationship therapy, hypnotherapy, cranial sacral and massage therapy, and nutritional consulting.
As adjunct faculty at Naropa University in both the undergraduate college and the graduate school of psychology, I have taught courses on multicultural counseling, and feminist and queer theory methods of inquiry. I have created curriculum for human sexuality, as well as supervised graduate students during their practicum internships.
My passion for sexuality, gender and relationships drove me to a doctoral studies program in Human Sexuality at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, Cailfornia.
Immersed in scholarship, I have enjoyed the opportunity to speak at sexuality conferences, both nationally and internationally, including providing diversity, equity and inclusion training for the University of Colorado in Boulder. As a co-author of a chapter on transpersonal sexuality, I have also co-authored chapters on sexuality leadership and decolonizing sexuality research (currently in publication). I’ve even had the esteemed opportunity of providing gender and sexuality consulting on California’s State Senate Bill 245, focusing on Foster Youth.
Currently, I’m working on my PhD dissertation researching possible connections between intuitive eating and sexual desire in women. I’m so excited to bring cutting-edge research, information and effective action plans into my coaching practice.
Outside of the virtual office and away from critical sexualities research, I love getting my hands on lumps of clay, creating functional and decorative pieces on the pottery wheel. I also have a dedicated daily meditation practice and I can never get enough Thai food or freshly roasted coffee from Old Bisbee Coffee Roasters (trust me, Seth is a coffee guru extraordinaire!). I’ve learned that life without cats is dreadful, and once I’ve settled into my new digs outside of Nashville, Tennessee (and soaked up tons of live music), I’m looking forward to exploring more of beautiful Eastern Europe, and beyond.
